Phase 2: Emergency Learning Plan

Beginning Tuesday, April 28, students will transition to the last phase of learning, coined the Emergency Learning Plan (ELP). This six-week phase is punctuated by a regular daily bell schedule when teachers will post the day’s activities and an instructional video at 8:30 AM on the day of the class, with students scheduled for a maximum of two classes daily. (Activities and video instruction will be posted in a Schoology folder titled ELP Week #__.) Students will attend a virtual class for clarification and discussion during the first thirty minutes of the bell and will utilize the remaining ninety minutes to complete the day’s assignment. Teachers will be available to students from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM daily by email and discussion rooms. The new class schedule follows:

Teacher Office Hours Tuesday-Friday, 11:00 AM-12:00 PM

It is important to note students’ routines may change from what we have followed since our closure. In short, students are encouraged to be online at 8:30 AM and 12:30 PM as their class schedule dictates. In addition, assignments should be completed on the day of the class. Students who are not online at the assigned times can view the instructional video but will miss the interaction with classmates and the clarification and discussions which follow. Although the work is ungraded, it is based on those most essential skills students will need for promotion to the next grade level. Please assist us in ensuring your child adheres to the schedule and submits completed work. Teachers will provide feedback on all student work.
