A Virginia Beach Middle School League physical form ("Updated May 2021") dated on or after May 1, 2024 by a doctor/physician must be on file in the Student Activities Office before try-outs. Physical forms can be obtained from the main office or by clicking on the Athletic Physical Form. Please note that the blue “School Entrance Health Forms” and recreation sports physical forms are not accepted as athletic physical forms.

A student must be enrolled in at least 5 classes, pass 5 subjects for the previous year for first semester eligibility or for the previous semester for second semester eligibility, and have a 2.0 grade point average in the preceding semester
A waiver may be granted only one time if a student does not meet the minimum 2.0 GPA requirement.
A student must have a current Middle School League Athletic Participation/Parental Consent/Physical Examination Form properly completed and signed.
A student must meet the age requirement whereby the student must not be 15 years of age before August 1st immediately prior to the start of the current school year.
A student may participate in the same league-sponsored activity for no more than three season while in grades 6, 7, and 8.
Eligibility begins the first semester of the sixth grade and runs consecutively. A student will be eligible to participate in interscholastic activties for a total of six consecutive semesters.

Parent Pick-up and Activity Bus will depart in the bus loop, in the back of the building.
August 16th - 31st: Parent Pick-up by 5:55 PM and Activity Bus Departs at 6:05 PM
Beginning September 5th for the remainder of the Fall Season: Parent Pick-up by 5:40 PM and Activity Bus Departs 5:50 PM
Parent Pick-up: if you are not at GNMS by the Parent Pick-up designated time, your student will be placed on an activity bus to make sure the student gets home.
